Lodge Seal — Meaning & Symbolism
The White Background
The Lodge Seal rests on a PURE WHITE background emblematic of the Lambskin Apron which we are ever reminded to keep unsullied, untarnished and untainted. The foundation on which Misamis Oriental Lodge No. 335 rests is the purity of life and conduct so essentially necessary to our gaining admission into the Celestial Lodge where the Supreme Architect of the Universe forever presides.
The Golden Light
The Golden Light at the center denotes the Great Light of Freemasonry — the Holy Book at the center of the Altar which is the rule and guide of our Faith and upon which all Masons have been Obligated. The Golden Light encompasses the Circle — that line beyond which we should never suffer our passions, prejudices and interests to betray us.
The Circle & Cabletow
The Circle is formed by a Cabletow that denotes an unending promise never to hesitate to take that one extra step beyond and reach our hand to aid and assist a distressed worthy Brother Mason and to raise a fallen Brother.
The Red, Blue & White Colors
Taken as a whole, the Red and Blue Banner, the Golden Light, and the White background depict the colors of the Flag to which Filipino Freemasons render a Salute. It symbolizes the Lodge’s allegiance to the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines and to the country to which she belongs.
The Dove
The Dove has always been a symbol of PEACE, a symbol of HARMONY. Misamis Oriental Masonic Lodge No. 335 flies high with Harmony among the Brethren withersoever dispersed.
Faith, Hope and Charity
On the lodge seal are the words FAITH, HOPE and CHARITY — the three principal tenets of Freemasonry and the guiding virtues by which every true Mason strives to live.
